What are Enhanced Jessner Peels
Our Enhanced Jessner Peels can be used to remove superficial wrinkles, dry patches of skin, as well as to treat sun damage and acne scars, rosacea, psoriasis and many other skin disorders.
How does an Enhanced Jessner Peel work?
Enhanced Jessner peel targets, loosens and dissolves the strateum corneum and corneocytes leaving the skin with a smooth, moist, refined, and vibrant appearance. The strateum corneum is a glue-like substance that holds the outer layer of our cells together; it is the build-up of the strateum corneum that is responsible for the skin’s rough, dry, scaly appearance and brown age or sun spots. Corneocytes are dead skin cells that block follicles in the skin and cause acne. Once the follicles are clear the Enhanced Jessner Peel works to keep them clear and prevent acne from recurring.
How often is the treatment recommended?
Depending on the condition of the skin, chemical peels can be done as a maintenance treatment to freshen up the skin every 4-8 weeks. If your skin has been neglected, it is recommended to start a series of 4-6 treatments to be performed every 2 weeks.
What is the difference between microdermabrasion and a chemical peel?
A chemical peel is a chemical(liquid) method of exfoliating the skin and microdermabrasion is a mechanical method. Your medical aesthetician will recommend the best choice for your skin type.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
For a more aggressive treatment, a chemical peel can be combined with microdermabrasion. Our medical aestheticians will let you know if you are a candidate.
Who should NOT have a Enhanced Jessner Peels?
You should not have an Enhanced Jessner Peels if you have used Accutane in the last year, are on blood thinners, used Retin-A in the last 48 hours, or recently waxed.
What should I expect after the treatment?
Immediately following you treatment you will be glowing! Individuals with sensitive skin may experience a slight redness. It will look like you just got a little sun. You can return your normal routine with no down time.
